Connected Operations & IoT · Industrial IoT

Plant data that crosses the IT/OT divide — safely.

Industrial IoT that reads from the PLCs, SCADA systems and historians you already run, contextualizes the data, and delivers condition monitoring, OEE and quality insight across lines and sites.

Who it’s for

Built for the people accountable for the outcome.

Industrial IoT is part of PEXIVA’s Connected Operations & IoT practice, which combines all six PEXIVA core capabilities.

Intended buyers

  • COO and VP Manufacturing
  • Plant managers and reliability engineers
  • OT, controls and automation leads
  • CIO and enterprise architects in industrial companies
Business problems

What this solves.

Data trapped in control systems

Historians and HMIs hold years of signals that cannot be combined across lines or plants.

Unplanned downtime

Failures are found by operators, not predicted from condition data.

Inconsistent OEE

Each site calculates availability, performance and quality differently.

IT and OT working apart

Security, network and data decisions are made without both teams in the room.

Capabilities

Industrial IoT — what’s included.

  • PEXIVA-deliveredPEXIVA practitioners own and perform the work.
  • PEXIVA-ledPEXIVA owns architecture, governance and delivery, with specialist contributors.
  • Partner-enabledA qualified specialist delivers a defined work package under PEXIVA program governance.

Deliverables

What you receive.

  • OT data-access architecture
  • Unified asset and tag model

  • Condition-monitoring rules and models
  • OEE dashboards
  • EAM/CMMS integration
  • Site rollout playbook
Delivery approach

Line, then plant, then portfolio

  1. Pilot line

Prove data access and one use case on a representative line.

  2. Plant

Extend to the plant with a reusable edge and data template.

  3. Portfolio

Roll out to additional sites with consistent KPIs.

  4. Operate

Monitor models, devices and cost under managed operations.

Relevant use cases

Where this is typically applied.

Illustrative use cases — not descriptions of specific client deployments.

Rotating-equipment condition monitoring

Motors, pumps, fans and compressors.

Downtime reason capture

Linking stoppages to causes for continuous improvement.

Energy per unit produced

Metering combined with production data.

Quality signal correlation

Process parameters linked to inspection outcomes.

Security considerations

Designed in, not bolted on.

  • Designs follow zone-and-conduit segmentation between OT and IT.
  • No inbound connections into control networks from the cloud.
  • Changes to control systems remain under your management-of-change process.

FAQ

Industrial IoT — frequently asked questions

Will you change our PLC programs?
Not by default. Designs use read-only access. Where control changes are required, they are made by qualified controls engineers — your team or a specialist partner — under your change process.
Do you work with our existing historian?
Yes. Historians are often the fastest source of contextual history and can coexist with new edge data flows.
Can you support multiple plants?
Yes. The approach is to template the edge and data pattern on one line, then roll it out. On-site installation at each plant is partner-enabled.
Is Industrial IoT the same as Industry 4.0?
Industrial IoT is one foundation of Industry 4.0: reliable, contextual plant data that analytics, automation and people can use.
